WISMO (Where Is My Order?)
WISMO stands for 'Where Is My Order?' — the single most common category of inbound support tickets for ecommerce stores. A WISMO ticket is any customer inquiry about the current status, location, or estimated delivery date of their order. WISMO tickets are the highest-volume, lowest-complexity ticket type and the top target for AI deflection.
How it works
WISMO inquiries typically spike in three windows: immediately after purchase (order confirmation anxiety), three to five days into shipping (delivery tracking anxiety), and around the expected delivery date (missed-delivery anxiety). For high-volume ecommerce stores, WISMO can represent 30–50% of total support volume.
The good news is WISMO tickets are almost perfectly suited to AI deflection. They require no judgment — just an order lookup and a status read. A chatbot with native Shopify or WooCommerce API access can answer 'where is my order?' in under three seconds with real-time tracking data, the carrier name, and the expected delivery window.
The challenge is matching the inbound message to the right order. Customers rarely include their order number. Effective WISMO automation requires customer authentication or email-based order lookup to surface the correct shipment without asking for information the customer doesn't have memorized.
When you'll encounter it
WISMO appears in every ecommerce support report. You'll see it in ticket tagging taxonomies, AI deflection dashboards, and ROI calculations. During peak events (BFCM, holiday shipping, product launches), WISMO volume can triple overnight — making it the highest-urgency target for automation before a peak.
How SupportSyndicate handles this
SupportSyndicate resolves WISMO tickets automatically via native Shopify and WooCommerce API connections. When a customer asks about their order, the AI retrieves live order status, tracking number, carrier, and delivery estimate from the platform in real time and responds in the same chat thread — no agent required. WISMO deflection rates of 85–95% are common within the first 30 days.
